Volume Trim and Coalesce
Hi -
This may be a very easy question to answer, but I've read the PT manual and can't seem to determine the error of my ways. I have a session in which I'd like to reduce the volume level on all tracks, individually, by 5db. There already exists volume automation on each track. I believe the correct way to do this is to enable the "All" group, set each track to Trim, and simply pull one fader down by 5db, such that all the faders reduce volume by the same amount. I should then be able to go to the Track menu and Coalesce the Volume Trim so that I no longer see the separate Trim line on each track, as it's been merged into the existing volume automation. However, when I've attempted to do this, Coalesce is grayed out on the menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance. Errol |

Re: Volume Trim and Coalesce
Hold option and click on a track name plate to select all tracks and then you can coalesce. The track needs to be selected to do the coalesce function.
