Why can't I record with Microphone?
Basically i downloaded asio4all after encountering a problem. My microphone was not showing up, it never did. I used the asio4all offline program and the only thing that shows up is my sound driver "REALTEK HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO" I've been trying to search the internet for almost a week. The microphone requires 48v and i have it on. I am using mbox 1 and the microphone is STERLING AUDIO S50 | CLAS A FET. PLEASE HELP.
EDIT: I CONNECTED HEADPHONES INTO THE HEADPHONE JACK AND I COULD HEAR MYSELF THROUGH THE MICROPHONE WITH THE HEADPHONES, WHEN IN MONO I COULD HEAR ON BOTH SIDES (AUDIO ONLY CAME THROUGH HEAPHONES) SO MIC DOES WORK BUT I DON'T KNOW WHY IT ISN'T RECOGNIZED? Re: Why can't I record with Microphone?
since Mbox has working ASIO drivers, there is no reason to use ASIO4ALL and I would uninstall that. Then install(or re-install) the Mbox driver. Then, in windows Control Panel>sound properties, set windows to NOT use the Mbox as the default audio device. Then hold the N key while opening Pro Tools(so you get to the Hardware setup page) and select the Mbox to be the "audio engine". Now go to the Setup>IO menu and DEFAULT on the Input and Output tabs. That SHOULD allow the Mbox to work correctly(with microphone, headphones and/or speakers all connected to the Mbox).

Re: Why can't I record with Microphone?
What version of Protools are you using?
Are you using the original MBox or the 2nd gen+ MBox? The original MBox will not work with Protools 9 or above, even with the ASIO4ALL drivers.

Re: Why can't I record with Microphone?
Mbox 1 is DOA with anything past Pro Tools LE 8.0 or 8.1. And there are no drivers for it as the drivers were part of the install of Pro Tools LE. The Mbox 1 - or original Mbox - was discontinued in 2005. If you have Pro Tools HD you need an Avid HD interface or a third party interface with ASIO drivers. And do you really have Pro Tools 10 HD and if so, how did you get it and an Mbox 1?
Sorry,
