Default Sibelius to get a development team

This is good news. A step in the right direction!

http://www.sibeliusblog.com/news/avi...belius+Blog%29

Hopefully they can revamp Sibelius. I'm starting to get into notation a little more lately, and I now got a Surface Pro 4, and I think that the integration has to be WAY better!

Oh trust it ate a big whole in my pocket, but it's worth it! Also the charger has a USB charge port to charge your phone or something! It's awesome! i'm going to get the Dock soon too to use on my desktop!

And yes I seen the demo during the Microsoft presser. I'm highly thinking about plunking down the change for it too!

I'm going to be more active in the ACA too! Avid needs to do what Staffpad is doing right now! I'm testing Sibelius 8 right now, and the pen usage is clunky, and don't allow you to draw notes. Annotate isn't a big feature for me! Hopefully they will add this on with the new studio!

The reception of this news in the Sibelius community was pretty icy --- Sibelius had a fantastic development team, based in London, but in 2012 overnight nearly everyone was laid off for cost cutting purposes.

Ever since, Avid has been trying to fix the damage, without much success. They hired a team of developers in the Ukraine, but apparently they weren't up to the task, or overwhelmed getting up to speed, which is why Avid is now opening a new office in Montreal.

Then there is the new licensing model which was received with less than lukewarm enthusiasm; a long standing bug list and requests on the Ideascale which were by and large ignored; and Avid's general poor financial performance with restated financials etc. which does not exactly inspire confidence.

That said I still hope for the best for Sibelius' future and actually I am in the minority of people that did subscribe for the annual plan.

I agree! I feel that the integration with the Surface Pen a little Underwhelming to be honest. They should buy the Staffpad developers to be honest!
