Default EVER since I installed pro tools 9 I get static/cracking noise

Okay folks, I am not cpu wizard, but I understand a bit about pcs. I updated my windows to windows 7 and it works smoothly woah baby!!Anyways I installed pro tools 9 on my pc and as soon As i pressed I got a static sound. I went on their website installed the drivers and still got a static sound. I tried serval usb ports NADA (not a damn anything) changed. I changed wires nothing has happened..

I have to come the conclusion there is a problem with the mbox 2 gen drivers as many people have suffered from this problem. Prior to my pro tools 9 installation everything with pro tools was working fine to be honest.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this static/whinning/cracking noise. Its sounds like a sweet wrapper being twisted through the phone. Its so annoying. You cannot mix, record basically you cannot do NADA!!Someone please help me I really wanna get back to making my hits.

Arh avid sort this out. thanks guys

Not sure if that's the same problem I've been having, but I have a similar sound that shows up from time to time.

I've found that by closing any other applications that are using audio, then changing my hw buffer size makes it go away.

For me it just seems to be a minor issue that has arisen from using my digi 002 as the soundcard for my computer.

I get a similar issue with my Audio Interface albiet not with pro tools (yet) and to confirm, quickly changing the buffer amount up then back down clears this, a reboot always helps to (im in win 7 also)
