Default Sound card with Digi 001 card?

I built my own PC for Pro Tools use. I didn't bother with a sound card as sound files like .wav's played through my Digi card and through my monitors like I wanted anyway.

But now I'm adding a TV tuner card and it sez it needs an audio card to capture the audio part when i record TV, for instance.

So, what's the deal with Digi 001 and a sound card both being on my PC? Is that the norm? I just installed a sound card but now sounds want to play through it and I don't know how to make it talk to my Digi 001.

Any ideas/suggestions/knowledge would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ron
