Re: RME Fireface 800 w/ Protools 11 issue
SOLVED.
This issue has been remedied with the installation of a new Firewire port. The other 1394 port was incompatible with this system. I was on the phone with Avid tech support for an hour and a half, they did everything they could from a software standpoint, nothing changed. Their best guess was the firewire card. Called an RME support dude who gave me a specific card to purchase: SIIG NN-E20012-S2 PCIe card. Everything talks to everything now. The audio engine initializes with no issues. I have done a test recording with my newly configured I/O settings without any problems. |

Huh. Same card I have in my desktop machine. Glad you got it solved.

Re: RME Fireface 800 w/ Protools 11 issue
Thanks, me too. It's curious to me why using a different firewire port causes weirdness.....There's a reason for it for sure, but I would have never thought to check that out.
