Default Bouncing to disc. . . Real TIme Only ? ? ? ?

Is it possible to do a bounce to disk that is not in real time?
If not why? All the other softwares have it?
Any computer, certainly mine, can keep up with a none real time bounce to disk.

I have four 65 minute files which will take me almost four and a half hours to bounce if that's the case.

Not with Pro Tools (currently).

And it's not that Protools couldn't do it, it just doesn't. The reason why is that when protools bounces, it includes everything, including external hardware on aux/send/return. I personally wouldn't want my external reverb unit processing audio at 2x-10x speed, would you? Just wouldn't sound right.

I beleive up until the newest cubase/nuendo iteration, none of the other softwares had the external hardware feature, so while they could do quicker BTD, they couldn't externally process.

A lot of people have complained about it (like, "but I'm not using external hardware, and I need it now") and it seems to be one of the #1 requests. Maybe in version 7.

I know! I feel your pain. It's strange, but it's Protools. Wonderful 90% baffling 10%

A faster method is to try the "Shift"-"Command"-"K" or select "Export selected As Files" in Audio Regions List pop-up menu. This will export files much faster.
