UAD-1 + Digi001 system freezes (cubase sx)

Hi,

I just installed my UAD-1 card. I'm also using 001 as soundcard. Host application is cubase sx2 (didn't try the fxpansion thing with ptle yet).
During the installation everyting looks normal (latest drivers, software...), but when I'm launching cubase and want to load a uad plugin the second i click on the plugin name the system freezes.
I tried all the pci slots for uad, makes no difference.

I disabled digi001 in the system settings and tried the onboard soundchip - works.

Any ideas?

am I the only one who ever tried the uad-sx-001 combo??? Won't believe that! Please reply if you got your uad with 001 running!

It seems so,

Most people here use Protools as their primary audio sequencer, so, until recently there has been no reason for anyone to buy a UAD-1. There probably are some people doing it but its a rare combo of equipment.

Until recently it wasnt possible to use VST-plugins. UAD plugs are VST (maybe some other formats aswell, but no RTAS). Only after the release of the FXpansion VST2RTAS wrapper it became possible to use the UAD with protools (or the Powercore for that matter)

the uad plugins should load in a Vst enviroment

In the uad configuration I had to change the buffer size from 256 ?? i think to 64 to work

but you should search for a definate answer On the uAD 1 forum

What driver version do you have. ? try the VST2RTAS I like it a lot I think its free now

for any thing other than A mackie card , ala project pak / studio pak card ownership

also what core audio buffer size do you have ?

I always set mine on high just a thought .........................

Hi,

what do you mean by core audio buffer size? The buffer size for the asio driver? Tried different settings - makes no difference.
Got an answer from uad support by now. They say that they know about working systems with uad+001+asio host, but didn't make any suggestions I hadn't already tried, like driver and bios update, different pci slot fresh install etc..
I try to find a different pc for a testinstallation with 001 and uad to see if it makes any difference.
