Default Why is Structure sampling the other A.I.R. instruments?

Hello!

I bought the instrument expansion pack a while back and i'm diving deeper and deeper into all the stuff and i think they are great.

But i've found one strange thing about structure, why is it sampling the other AIR instruments? the electric pianos comes from velvet, synths comes from Hybrid and Xpand! etc.

What is the advantage of having the sounds sampled in structure if they already is available in other VI's?

thanks

Structure, believe it or not is great for playing back your own samples.

Indeed.

The whole point of structure is that it is a rather powerful sampling software. It's not about the sounds it comes with, it's about using and manipulating your own samples.

http://www.airusersblog.com/ is probably the best place to start looking for structure patches, but you can find a vast number of sample libraries floating all over the internet for free, plus many high quality libraries to buy.

Yes indeed it is. I Already make my own patches with structure, and actually i have almost everything from the AIR Users Blog (Except their piano).

But my question is still unanswered; what is the advantages of having the same sounds sampled in structure? seems kinda silly to have 60 GB of sounds that i already have...

Couple of reasons of many

Layering those sounds with others.

Being able to edit them.

Being able to assign the outputs to something other than a stereo output.

Using one instance of Structure maybe more effective than several other VI's running concurrently.

Using a existing instrument without creating a new instrument or midi track. Some times its nice just work within the structure window.

If you think about it you can probably come up with a few of your own.

Or is the question really "I feel ripped off because the included content doubles other free plugs"?. I can understand that to a point. Once I realized that they did a really great job of cherry picking some of the best content I kinda stopped thinking that way. I have libraries where the bulk of the content sits unused cause it never quite fits. I find the included Sructure content pretty usable.

Thank u for your reply.

U seem to think I'm trying to spread some hate around here.
I dont feel ripped. I love the air instrument pack. It was just a curious question, what the intensions was to sample their own VI'S.

I know avid have taken a lot of [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep], but most of their new stuff I really love. I have legitimate versions of torq, air instrument pack, venom, pro tools, etc.

Just asking, if that's ok?

I think you misinterpeted my post. I don't think your spreading hate at all. Hence the smiley face in my original post. I doubt that I was the only one that asked my self "Hey whats with all the sample's of existing AIR instruments?". It's a legitimate question that as far as I know has not been discussed.

AIR's intentions I can't say. I know it saved me from having to sample them myself.
