I have never seen a company so effectively and efficiently ruin its reputation and its perceived position of good will. The sad part is they probably pat each other on the back after their strategy/marketing meetings.

It starts at the top. The change has to start with a new CEO.

There's always a transition period, it's not like all of the old projects cease to exist. I'm in the process of transitioning myself, but I still use PT for things that have already been started.

And presumably for a good old moan about how you're having to still use PT?

totally frustrating but that lady's title is like social media and communication she is just relaying what higher ups tell here..the fact that avid deleted the post to me means they are rethinking after backlash ( i hope...) they need their entire higher up structure to be refreshed...customers are coming last.

But to summarize, if you let your plan lapse, and then sign up, Avid is going to make you pay for the time you lapsed (Prorated, so if you were off 10 months, you'd pay $499, PLUS the next year $599 plus a $149 'reinstatement penalty'. So let it lapse 10 months, and you're looking at $1247 to get back 'current'.

Let it lapse say 2 years and you're looking at $1946...

Beyond insulting, and I hope that woman and anyone else related to that decision has been summarily fired.

I can't speak for @tention, but I can tell you that I also gave up on Avid for my personal rig, but I continue to come here for two reasons:

1. Because we still use Pro Tools where I work.

2. I'd like to go back to using Pro Tools for my own projects, so I keep checking to see if the things that prevent me from using it now are still issues or not.

There are many reasons one may have an interest in Pro Tools despite not using it at the moment.

A tad defensive, aren't we?

My opinion is as valid as yours, no reason not to offer it. I'm a PT owner. I bought it and am disappointed in what has happened since. But you already knew that.
