Re: The MBP we've been waiting for, here it is !
Should I buy one today, or wait until the 24-core, 128GB model is released next year?

Re: The MBP we've been waiting for, here it is !
My Mid-2012 2.7 Quad i7 8mb L3 Cache 16gb RAM is still running strong. I bought it with a 256gb SSD, max processor and RAM for $3,300.
Now you can get this new one with a 512gb SSD, max processor and RAM for $3,500. That's a 6-core i9 8th gen with 16mb L3 Cache, 32gb (faster) RAM, and more powerful video cards (which is important to me as the MBP is silent while using its onboard video...the minute it switches to the NVIDIA its fan-noise city). Not bad. This will be my next studio computer depending on how my CPU loads are looking at the end of this year. |

Any hands on experiences with the new 6 core Macbook pro 15 inch?

Re: The MBP we've been waiting for, here it is !
I've got my eyes on an i9 with 32GB RAM and a 2TB SSD. If I think about it too long that's going to end up being 4TB. I may use the Give Back program to get rid of some older Apple products lying around and get the price down a little.

Re: The MBP we've been waiting for, here it is !
I wasn't aware of the "give back" program with apple. I put in my serial number on my MBP 2016 15 inch with 512 SSd and it gave me a trade in estimate of $1185.
Not bad for a computer I've used for a year

Re: The MBP we've been waiting for, here it is !
That is actually very good. I priced two laptops a MacBook 2012 and a MacBook Pro mid 2015 model. You were offered more for your one computer than I was for both of my older computers. I was only offered $1100 for both.
I decided to take the plunge and ordered the 15" i9 with 32 GB RAM and 2 TB of SSD storage. I can't wait to do some "away from. the desk" editing on one of my songs. |

I ordered mine last Thursday not your model the other one I have listed in my signature. Just got an email from Apple this morning telling me it has left the factory and is 4-5 a head of schedule......
Looking forward to have a decent lappy to run things, best of luck wif yours

Re: The MBP we've been waiting for, here it is !
Might wanna hold off on the i9 processor, looks like there is a firmware issue with it... causing it to over heat or something like that..... its a pay per view rag and can only read the headline and a lil summary.... well that what a local news rag here is claiming Apple is saying.
