Default Please Help with connections between interfaces

Hey all,

I've got an HD Native Thunderbolt System on a Mac laptop. I've got an old 192 and 16 external mic pres into the 192's analog ins. I've got a a new HD I/O and 16 external mic pres with ADAT out to connect to the HD I/O's ADAT in.

I understand using either the 192 with the analog pres, or the HD I/O with the digital pres. How do I hook everything up to use it all at once? Do I use the external port connector from the HD Native interface? Do I run a DB25 from the HD I/O's AES I/O to the 192's AES I/O? How does word clock/loop sync factor into this?

...just a little confused, and any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

First of all, switch it so that the first 16 pres are feeding the new Avid HD I/O and the lightpipe pres are feeding the 192. This way your best conversion is being utilized. Right now you're wasting your best A/D.

Then connect the HD I/O to the Native card and 192 to the Expansion Port of the HD I/O. Loop sync is just BNCs to and from each interface.
