Default Template copies on 6.9.1 - make it stop!

I just upgraded from 6.7 to 6.9.1 on 10.3.8 G5
I use a template to start sessions off by copying it from the desktop to a new folder on the recording HD. They are set to stationary pad.
This used to work like this in 6.7 - open template session and it would give me the option of edit statioary or new session.
On 6.9.1 no go - it justs copies the template straight away and starts a new session with that name. I lose my careful disk allocation as well..
Any ideas?

Here’s but one of many:

Read the “Read Me” file installed by the installer (notice how those clever and professional “Item Namers” have named things?).

Hi.

Here's what I do...

Launch Pro Tools and Save a New Session where you want to.

Go to Windows > Show Workspace

Find your template and drag it into Pro Tools.

-or-

Try File > Import Session Data

Cheers!

Heck - try fifty other methods. Admittedly, they’re bound to be more entertaining (think Jello - always fun) than the three boring methods described by Digi in the... zzzzzzzzz

It's an OS X issue.

Use Import Session Data and import from your template session -- it's fast and painless.

Or....instead of double-clicking on your template, open your template session from the file menu in Pro Tools. You will get the familiar "Create new or Edit Existing" dialog you are used to.

That wasn't so hard, was it?

CORRECT!! This is the way we've always done it and it ALWAYS WORKS! Open your files from the FILE menu and it will all look normal.
