Default 12.7 Memory Usage

Anyone else notice a big jump in reported memory usage with 12.7? I just upgraded from 12.4.

I'm speaking of the System Usage monitor within PT. It shows 59% on bootup with no session loaded. Previously it was around 20% max. Looking at Activity Monitor PT is only using 320MB, while memory hog AVE is using 2.84GB. But why is PT reporting 59%? 59% of what? Certainly not 24GB...

Current system: Mac Pro 5,1 12 core 2.93GHz, OSX 10.10.3, 24GB RAM, PTHD 12.7

Yeah that seems like too much.

Did you go through the pref setups?

Did you engage/disengage the video engine?

Or some other pref that might be eating resources?

Yes Video Engine was enabled, like I said it was taking up its usual 2+ GB of RAM. That's nothing new.

Prefs are exactly the same as they were in 12.4. Don't know of any that woud affect memory usage like that.

And again it seems to be just the reported memory usage, actual percentage of physical RAM is 12-15% with my current session loaded. (Looking at Activity Monitor and adding PT + AVE).

I suppose I really don't care as long as it keeps working but I don't want to get any "Out of Memory" errors...

I cant comment on ram use as I have 64 GB and don't notice it, but I do notice random CPU spikes that cause 9173 errors , and messages asking me to delete plugins on almost bare projects that shouldn't even me raising a sweat on my machine .

Pro Tools 12.7.1 should be out soon hopefully - and 'again' hopefully might fix this.

(guessing a soon to be released P.T 12.7.1 - ie; judging by my plug-in update App from Plug-in Boutique)
.., as it has been showing all AVID related plugs having a new version number of 12.7.1704

Whenever I have seen these new version numbers showing up (all) , the new ProTools version has usually been released not long after (fingers crossed)
