The unsolvable problem has been solved!

Hello,

To those who read my last posts and the predicament I was in, will be glad to know I have finally solved my error 6085 issue!

The culprit?

McAfee!!!

I had a conference call with AVID and they checked out my system and found that disabling Mcafee on my system didn't stop some of its background tentacles conflicting with Pro Tools operation. The solution was to uninstall McAfee!

I was then able to use my Mbox Pro system as it should - with no interruptions and unsable programs. I hope this may help any others who experience this problem.

I must say, during the whole debacle, the guys at AVID were really responsive, polite and quite a pleasure to deal with. A nice change from most of the companies I deal with these days.

I'm a happy camper and off to record all night!
