Pro Tools 8 HD/TDM compatibilty with PT LE 7.4

Can you open a Pro Tools 8.03 TDM session in Pro Tools 7.4LE and vice-versa?

In the past I've been able to open a PT 7.4 TDM session in PT 7.4 LE and all the TDM plug-ins opened as RTAS in PT LE. I could work in LE - save and reopen in TDM - and all the plug-ins would still work and keep all their settings.
(I'm not using anything other than basic Digi and Waves plug-ins.)

Will this still be the case if I upgrade just my TDM system to PT 8?
