Default Max RAM for PTLE 7.4 on Mac Pro

Hello
Just a quick question regarding ram memory running Pro Tools LE 7.4 on OSX 10.4.10

I have a Mac Pro with 4gb ram installed, will I gain some better performance if I double the ram or is there a max ram that the application can handle.

Someone told me that 4gb is the maximum amount of ram that can be handled by the program and the same goes for Nuendo, Digital Performer etc etc

Is that true?

cheers / Mike

Default Re: Max RAM for PTLE 7.4 on Mac Pro

Guess I have the answer to my own question. If I'm not completely wrong 4gb is the max amount of ram for a 32 bit application.

So that means that if if have 6-8 gb of ram installed I will definitely gain some more power as the system will eat some memory and I might have some other applications running.

Hope I haven't got this completely wrong

cheers / Mike
