Delay on playback

I have an Imac G4 800mhz, with an Imic and external mixer and Pro Tools Free. When I record, everything sounds ok , but when I playback my recording the guitar, or whatever, is not in sync with the drums, NOT EVEN CLOSE! And Nudging the track back is NOT and acceptable solution. If this is how Pro Tools LE works, I will not be buying the MBbox. Any Ideas?
