Unhappy Lost Communication -Error -6097/Pro Tools and 4 Processors/

Hey Guys, I just re-installed my pro tools le rig and i'm curious if Pro Tools utilizes all "4" processors in my 3ghz dual core or is it the cause for these error messages. It seems to run better if I drop it to 2 processors but i thought increasing the processors would improve performance. When I add an instrument in this case MOTU Symphonic Instrument into my session with 4 processors 512 Buffer %85 CPU usage Level 2 and normal cach i start getting the "lost communication" error before I can even playback or add an instrument. Basically, I get the -6097 error without touching anything. When I tried 2 Processors it was able to get a little farther however, naturally I'm limited to the amount of instruments I can use which tends to defeat the purpose of adding in processors into the mix but even then Pro Tools tends to be a little unstable. So if this is the case would buying a new 8 core computer improve the overall pro tools experience or is it not worth the money and I should go back to tiger lol. Any insight would be appreciated! thanks. HELP!

So I'm running: a
mac pro 2 x 3 ghz Dual-core Intel Xeon
Mac Os. 10.5.8
4 GB Ram
Pro Tools 8.0.1
Digi 002

You might have better luck in the Mac section of the forum. This for PC/Windows users.
