TLSpace TDM causes "Pro Tools has lost communication" error

Got a Command 8 to demo... it works as normal until I open, modify settings, or close TL Space TDM plugin. I notice the USB light goes off on the Command 8. Only TL Space seems to cause the problem.

I'm using a 1GHZ Dual G4, 2 gigs of ram, Pro Tools HD (1 core, 1 process) 7.4cs5, 192, SYNC IO, Mac OS X 10.4.11

Have tried various USB ports and hubs, including disconnecting the keyboard and mouse, Digi Support utility to delete preferences, etc. Power cycling the Command 8 fixes the problem - until I try to use a TDM plugin again.

UPDATE: After a few weeks I've the Command 8 back to the dealer. I successfully used an Alphatrack without any problems. Now, I'm trying to use a Mackie Universal Control and have the same problem. Loading TL Space TDM causes Pro Tools to loose communication. Any ideas?

TL Space TDM 1.1.2r6 (the old version) does not cause this problem. The TL Space TDM 7.4 (latest version) does. Is this a bug with the plugin? Digi do you expect this to be fixed? Also, could this be related to running a Process card instead of an Accel?

I'm trying to reproduce this, but have been unsuccessful as of this moment.

Are you using mono or stereo versions? Short, medium, long? Does it matter?

How do you have the C|8 connected to your computer? Have you turned off all the usual - bluetooth/wireless/airport, etc?

If you go to the TL Space plug-in and click the Preferences icon - what is your PCI Throttle set at? Does changing the setting make any difference?

One other thing to try:

Go to MacHD>Users>your account>Library>Preferences>By Host and trash 'com.apple.midi.a bunch of numbers and letters.plist'.

Go to MacHD>Users>your account>Library>Preferences and trash 'com.apple.audio.audiomidisetup.plist'.

Empty the trash and restart, then see if everything is working.
