Default 24 fps - USD And SYNC I/O - Generating Timecode

Just noticing that the both the USD and SYNC I/O _only_ generate 29.97 code when the selected clock source is 'Video Ref'. This is not the expected behavior of an otherwise well rounded professional sync device.

It would be useful in post-production situations, when the clock source is video reference, to be allowed by the software and hardware to generate 24-frame-based code -- in other words, 23.976 fps timecode.

We occasionally need to pull 24 down to 23.976, but this is not an available choice (PT 5.3.1). Not sure about PT v6+, but it does appear limited by the USD and SYNC I/O firmware or possibly hardware.

Can that happen on the Digidesign SYNC devices? A 24 fps clock, phase locked to video reference -- emulating analog generators?

Thanks.
