Default Re: Mac 10.3.8 and os 10.8.5 STABLE??? Anyone.

The only problem I've had with this combo is PT10.3.8 won't quit via the menu command or keyboard shortcut. I have to Force Quit from OSX Finder/Dock. Other than that it's been quite good. I use it mainly to do my drum tracks so I can get separate audio outs from BFD2 into PT and Blue Cat MB7-2 won't do separate audio outs from a hosted vi.

in my further research Ive found a couple things...

a old version of the Sound Miner Rewire bundle, which I removed. and in my application support folder a com.fxpansion.fxshared.bundle which I think got put in with a demo plug in but I removed that

I also removed EVERYTHING from my preferences folder.

My system seems ok. . . but I have nto needed to work on my problematic sessions again and I have not tried to reinstall the Air instruments V2 again... but I thought I would pass those things on to folks... maybe try and remove and see what happens.

I was not getting the crash on quit thing... mine stuff was more random, but with an emphasis in air instruments v2 usage.

More crashes yesterday and then I called avid support.

Fixed a couple things...

Found an old Midi driver from the 003 that he said he's seen time and time again lingering in peoples systems and causing problems.

Plus I inadvertently re installed a later version of my Mbox3 Pro driver for Mavericks, so we went back a level..

But for me with all the VI issues I was having Im thinking the main thing was the old midi driver and the old Sound Miner Rewire package maybe a bit also.

So many of my crashes were random and not repeatable so it was SOO HARD to track down..

This happens to us EVERYTIME when we have the MB-7 open with a VST synth active and save, exit PT11Hd and tick tick tick Bam! Crash report so I re-did this ten times with and without MB-7 and whenever the MB-7 is "Open" in the GUI PT crashes, with MB-7 Closed nothing. Just a normal shut down so our culprit is MB-7 and we just have to remember to close the GUI before we exit PT

Weirdness all around.

Chris

I hadn't thought about mentioning my problems with PT11 and MB7-2 in this thread until you mentioned your problems. You're not the only one having this issue - it happens with me as well. Like you I'll just have to remember to close the MB7-2 gui.

PT10 doesn't crash to where it gives the Crash Report dialog box; just locks solid and I have to Force Quit.

Please elaborate -

I have PT10.3.7 and 10.8.4 and since Air and a few other plugs I have the Command Save issue - Freezes GUI and I have to force quit PT

Do you remember the location? Or how to get rid of it?

DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin

HD>Library>Audio>Midi Drivers>DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin

(Im on Mac OS 10.8.5) not sure about other OS versions.

Just move it to the desktop or somewhere else... and try... Make sure everything is working without it. Although the tech I talked to seemed to think it was only a fix for an old version of Pro Tools and was not only no longer needed but was also problematic... But make sure before you toss in the trash, On mine he directly tossed into the trash and everything has been fine so far. But I don't want to say to trash it off the bat as you may have a different system set up than me, so just make sure.

Moving stuff to the desktop on a Mac doesn't usually take stuff out of the equation; at least it hasn't for me. I end up having to delete/empty trash whatever is causing the error.
