Default Matrix Mixing

I am a new Venue user and was working with with matrix mixes. Getting things into a matrix is no problem, but how do I get the matrix back to an input, main bus, or group bus? Does the matrix mix have to be sent to an hard output and brought back in?

You have to physically patch it back in.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but you can also use a plugin. Set the input of the plugin to Matrix output. Set the plugin output to feed into the channel (or wherever) you want.

I'll let somebody chime in on a good plugin recommendation. I believe you can also bypass the plugin so it isn't consuming resources. But I haven't tried that yet.

One thing to be very careful of is path loops. For example if the Left / Right mix feed into the Matrix, and you feed the matrix into a channel, make sure that channel doesn't feed into the left / right mix.

I think you are right Craig. As far as plugins go I would suggest something from the digirack tools. There is a plugin that is called "trim" that is just an attenuator. I can't see something like that taking up hardly any dsp.

Thank you. I will be working to see how I can use this capability.
