Re: Phone Number Why
I don't know if it's because of the number of people accessing the scripts at the same time or if we somehow didn't get your info properly entered. The initial web logs show that a lot of people have been successful, but we are seeing a number of failures as well. Believe me, we're working on it.
Sorry for the inconvenience, Dog, and I hope it's just temporary. Bruce Paine Digi Web Team

Re: Phone Number Why
You can give me your name and phone number and I can make sure it is properly entered in the download script.

Re: Phone Number Why
I'm just wondering, why do you need to even "verify" peoples phone numbers? If the software can't be used without the proper authorization disks, what's the point of making sure non-registered people can't download the installer? They can't use it anyway.
Am I missing something? |

Re: Phone Number Why
A good question, and one that we considered.
We are having the download hosted on a third party site, and they have requested that we qualify people in some way to reduce the traffic for legitimate users. It has been their experience that with the increased availability of high speed connections and bigger hard drives, people will download just about anything, whether it needs a key disk or not. So qualifying can mean the difference between a few thousand downloads and tens of thousands. We would also prefer to try to get the software (and the documentation) into the hands of the users that paid for it, without making it too easy for someone that did not to have the same benefits. This is the first time we've made a web download of this size available for customer convenience prior to receiving the physical shipment. Inevitably and ironically, it will end up being inconvenient for some people, and for that I apologize. I'll probably learn a thing or two for the future about how we go about it in the process. ------------------ Bruce Paine eMarketing
