Default Treble and Bass

DUC Users,

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the bass and treble for an individual track after it has been recorded...or adjust the treble and bass for the whole song for that matter? My songs have too much low end when listening to it in an automobile stereo.

I am using Pro Tools Mbox

thanks,

PAul

The manual is a little thin, which is why there's a multi-hundred page in-depth .pdf file with all kinds of details, tips, and other tidbits in there. Took me awhile to realize that though. Check in the main ProTools folder for it. Or actually, better yet, go to "help" when you're in ProTools and open up the ProTools Reference Guide. Extensive and very helpful information is listed there.

Oh, and Paul, one more thing - if you wanna set up an EQ for an entire song before you bounce to 2 track stereo, set up a new channel as a mono or stereo aux. Then set every track in the session to the same bus in the send field (right below where you set up inserts). On your new AUX channel go to the input field (probably says Mic/Line 1/2 or something - just below the send field) and set it to the same bus that you set up as the send for all the tracks. Then create an insert with one of the RTAS EQ options or the t-Racks EQ plug-in (if you bought 6.1) on the AUX channel. Now you can EQ the whole session at once. Do all of this in the Mix window...it's more clearly and traditionally laid out for this kind of routing, imo.

To simplify:

Open session
Create mono or stereo AUX channel
Go to send field on each track and set it to Bus 1/2 (if you've already used 1 and/or 2, go to Bus 3/4 or Bus 4/5, etc).
Go to AUX channel and set input to whatever bus you have just set all of your track sends to.
Insert an EQ plug-in on the AUX channel
Hit play and make it sound good

You're welcome - enjoy! FYI - using compression and reverb and stuff on those universal or multi channel AUX drives is a great way to save space. I have been bussing my bass and drum tracks to one AUX, guitars to another, Keys to another, etc lately. Very convenient.
