Making the jump........
I am making jump from LE to HD. I would love to get user feedback from those who have done the same. What are your opinions regarding the improvement in sound quality going from LE to HD. I'm aware of some of the obvious differences which is why I'm uprading, but would like to hear straight from experienced users what you think about those differences.
Thanks a million!

Re: Making the jump........
Speed, absence of latency (direct monitoring through the track WITH plugins), sound quality due to better converters, and (some might disagre on this with me) I find most plugins sound better in TDM, notably Waves.
The problem with TDM is you always want more DSP... ;-)

Re: Making the jump........
Delay compensation and trim automation are the biggies for me (and the high track counts go without saying).
I can and still do write on LE/M-Powered systems but I couldn't go back to mixing on them. |

Re: Making the jump........
Tom, I've done this jump last month, unfortunately to a HD1 (accel core).
Don't do the same and go at least for a HD2.

If you can afford it, go with an HD2.

Re: Making the jump........
Hi,
I was also in doubt until a few days ago, but decided to upgrade because all my Mix gear value was going down and down. At least and finally in Brazil there is a reasonable opportunity to upgrade to HD Accel. But be aware that until the dust settle down, you will need a few days to have the new stuff properly functioning. Stay tuned to what folks are reporting on here, if you are going MAc Pro/7.3.x TDM.
