midi controller not working?

hello all,
haven't used my oxygen controller in a few months,
worked fine last time i tried.
controller works when i open some plugins in stand-alone mode like kontakt or minimoog v original.
today, not responding in PT.
running PT 8.05
my mac is running 10.6.8
tried several instruments like vacuum or mini grand
and they work in the session,
just don't recognize my controller.
how do i trouble shoot?
where do i reconnect the midi controller?

Here's what I would try:
MAKE SURE your MIDI thru is active.
In PT Prefs, MIDI, under BASICS, make sure your "Default Thru Instrument" is assigned to either it's own instrument channel, or select "first selected MIDI track".

These may help you. If that doesn't work, go into your Utilities in your Applications folder under "Audio Midi Setup" and check your settings there. Your Oxygen should show up. If not, add the instrument you need.

I forgot to mention (just in case) make sure your drivers are updated for your controller in case PT looks for a different driver. Just a thought.

Also, make sure that you are using an "instrument" track for your controller to operate. ie: if you have soft synths/samplers/Reason/etc, those have to be on an instrument track...in case you haven't done that, but you probably have.

I had the same problem and I solve it using a powered USB hub, I connected my usb keyboard (m-audio prokeys 88) to the hub and connected the hub to my mac (retina) then everything works, Im using pro tools HD11, and OS X 10.10.4
