Well you're also very obviously posting a COMMERCIAL post on a user forum, which is in general a no-no.

Look, I could care less if you post honestly, I'm just saying I can understand why they removed it. Sure it might help others. Especially YOU. You're not posting to some site that has free information to help a user, you're trying to sell them something. Fine, I get that, but posting ADS in a user forum, that takes someone to somewhere where they can BUY something, is not quite the idea of a user forum, in my opinion.

Just my .02

I'd say the point of the forum would be for you to share that very info within the said forum, without taking any money elsewhere.
If it were to be allowed, could you imagine the number of threads that would swamp the forums with new release info every single day?

agreed. most user forums are about the sharing of knowledge. not advertisements. and if the moderator allowed ads the forums would turn into one giant "craigs list for sale page" for pro tools.

I like the DUC because it has most of the problems and tech issues posted for reference. and a simple search gives users a lot of options for trouble shooting.

commercial posts are not needed in my opinion because they are distracting to the main focus of this forum. the sharing of pro tools user knowledge.

More likely they just missed the other one, and noticed this one.

I remember the other one. It had a different tone I think. It was meant to help get people going with PT8 and happened to have a small charge. The new one seemed more commercial. Just my 2 cents.

EEB-

If this were my bar I would have cut you off and escorted you out a few posts ago, not for the original post, but for your subsequent self-serving arguments.

Next time get a satisfied user to post a heads-up to the forum. Now, however, for the sake of your reputation I suggest that you at least pretend to understand the wisdom of keeping commercial posts out of the forum and abandon this thread.
