Default 6085 problem on Win7 64bit Laptop with GeForcde M9600GT solved

Hi,
I thought this info might be helpful for those who struggle with the same issue. For about one year I've been struggling with a problem that I get an 6085 Buffer error during recording to Jamtracks via MBox3. In fact I record to an external HDD using an eSATA-interface and I also deactivated all plugins and Windows background processes. As you see in my thread http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=326654 I was already thinking of buying an iMac to get rid off this problem.
I usually use mp3 based Jamtracks that I load into a track in PT. And on a second track I do my guitar-recordings. So I use a very limited amount of tracks, but nevertheless I had to deal with 6085.
Now it seems that I solved the problem, although it might sound stupid:
I attached an external monitor via HDMI to my Sony Vaio Laptop and moved the PT10.3 application to that monitor. Believe it or not, I did not get any errors any more! In the meantime I tested it for about 4 hours. In addition I added some plugins during recording, still no 6085 occured. Using plugins during recording was absolutely impossbile up to now!
So obviously the grafic output between the laptop internal busses and the external HDMI bus works in a different way (interrupt-handling?).
Maybe some guys from AVID may give some info about the technical background. The 6085 has definitely to do with the grafic output or the interface (internal, HDMI) used to route the grafic!

Default Re: 6085 problem on Win7 64bit Laptop with GeForcde M9600GT solved

I'm running PT 10.2 with a Win7 64bit Laptop (a very strong one) and I'm having some 6085-errors going on now and then, just like you had, although my CPU usage meter never passes 35-40%.
I will absolutely try out your solution, and see if it solves my issue as well.
Glad it fixed yours.

(and, sorry for bumping an old thread)
