Default Promise of Demo Was to Shut Us Up

Yea, it was put out there to shut everyone up to give them time to censor every single post and thread that spoke the truth.

They really are flying by the seat of thier pants!

I think announcing the demo was just a way to adjust the negative focus into a somewhat positive. The focus needs to remain on the upgrade price. Im on HD9 Native, $999 for PTHD 10??? Well we dont need to go there again. Its great to get a demo, but either way the price is too much, even the $600 for that support plan.

Less focus on the demo, and more pressure on the price people!

If you look through the forum it should be obvious that we did very little in the way of removing posts or threads. (You can check the Forum Terms of Use to see what is not acceptable up here.)

X vs.Y threads (Mac vs. PC, Pro Tools vs. Nuendo, etc.)

- X vs Y is OK when comparing PT9 to PT 10 OR comparing PT10 to PT HD 10 as they work to generate sales.

X vs Y will be shut down when comparing the amount of features someone gets for the dollar with an upgrade price to other companies.

BTW on the demo, I dont see it as a bad thing that AVID put out a demo. It could be a great thing for some users to try out PT 10 before they purchase it.

JN - I was speaking directly to his claim that we created it to shut everyone up and give us time to censor every single post and thread. Neither of these are true.

I'd say that was parsing things a bit wouldn't you? I think that everyone on here understands the frustration with Avid and their seemingly confused stance on things.. and the exaggeration of some of the users of this forum.

And to be fair, you axed a LOT of threads/posts.. The 'why' will have to be left up to those concerned.. but it was lopsided in my personal experience and opinion.

just sayin..

nah, they'll put out the demo, they are just really slow about things.

Either way, Im still rocking along just fine in PT9. Can't wait for the demo though, i want to see how she works in Windows 8.

Again, he said we censored every post and thread, and that is not true. Our goal was not to remove opinions or criticism (we actually encourage those), but we did remove insults and personal attacks.

Look you guys, Avid has this forum as a courtesy to us so that users can help user with problems. We all should read the Forum Term of Use and abide by it.

If we want to play in Avid's sandbox, we play by Avid's rules. Is this so hard for you to understand?
