Default Mbox 2 with Macbook Pro 15" i7 not working

Hello,

I've recently installed Pro Tools LE 8 on my 15-inch: 2.66GHz macbook pro which is running on OS X 10.6.3. Also, after several frustrating minutes, I found what I believed to be the correct updates (8.0.3 Update for Mac OS X and Pro Tools LE 8.0.3cs2 Update for Mac). Also, I read some forums that suggested I plug in the Mbox 2's usb cable into the USB slot closest to me on my macbook.

After I attempted to open Pro Tools from the dock, the loading screen came up, loaded all of the plugins, and then when the Open Session window should have appeared, it just froze without any window even open. I checked in the Force Quit Applications window on my macbook, and surely enough, Pro Tools Le was Not Responding. I've tried again and again several times, but the same thing keeps on happening.

Is there anybody who may possibly know what's causing this to happen, and what I can do to fix this problem?

Thanks.

I'm not sure how exactly to do this, but you may want to revert back to the Mac OS X 10.6.2 because 10.6.3 is still in testing by Avid.

There are a lot of PT8 users that say that they haven't had any problems with 10.6.3, but some say they have so I'd give that a try.

barry1, can you please give me a link to that post? I tried to use the forum search to find it, but I was unable to find it.

I just today got my refund from Avid for the PT8LE upgrade I purchased.

The tech support people I spoke to said a fix was imminent but couldn't say what that meant exactly - a month, two, more ... There are some tricks you can try to make it work in the interim but it's really sort of half-assed, imho.

I didn't necessarily want to return the software but that was the only way I could ensure my 30 days of tech support would happen when I was actually able to use the product.
