Default Avids ACA Audio Subcommitee priority for PT

Hello All,

The ACA appointed a subcommittee for "Audio and PTs" last year in late October. They made a priority list for improving audio and pro tools. I'm a bit worried that the list doesn't include a full bug fix for PT 10 through 12.
Maybe there has been a meeting of the subcommittee since then but I cant find reference to it. I also worry that the subcommittee is not getting feedback from the Idea Scale, the DUC and tech support.

Here is the list from last October; What do you think?

Audio / Pro Tools:
1. Improve how metadata is read, stored, and reused
2. Improve the ability to securely share media between users
3. Better support for video workflows
4. Support of AVB and AES67 standards, along with HD Native Thunderbolt and small HD I/O portable devices
5. Cloud security and licensing
6. Issue smaller, more frequent software updates

Cheers
Lachlan

Seems to focus on video user needs. A few simple things like the ability to save plugin chains, etc. would sure make life better for the audio users.

Those seem like Avid's priorities for Protools.

Really...who out there is griping because the meta data in Protools isn't good enough?

Maybe secure sharing would be a good thing.

I'm sure lots of people could use better video support.

They better damn well better start implementing Dante support. Avid is about the only big audio manufacturer that does not support Dante is some fashion (other than Meyer Sound). AVB is as good as dead. Dante won the ethernet audio transport wars. Read this: http://controlgeek.net/blog/2015/7/2...-infocomm-2015

Nobody wants their stupid cloud storage and whatever rental/pay per use licensing scheme they have up their sleeve.

Smaller more frequent software updates are 6 of one/half dozen of the other.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly the ACA is, and what it is supposed to do. I'm a member (I guess), joined after they opened the memberships up to be free. But so far, all I can figure out is that they send out a lot of spam, and just parrot what the mothership says their customers need.

Frankly, I think the ACA is just a tax write off for Avid, to, again...help improve their bottom line.
