Default Recommended Pro Tools 10.n Tutorials for New Pro Tools User

Hello,

I am a brand new registered user of Pro Tools 10.4. I am in search of the most basic tutorials with a path from beginner to advanced.

Can anyone please recommend a great set of tutorials to start with?

Thank you,

Tony

Although they are a paid service, Lynda.com and macprovideo.com are great places to start. Of coarse YouTube is another great source. Recordingrevolution.com many more!

Hi guatamas,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I'm familiar with lynda.com, but forgot that they offer Pro Tools tutorials. I'll check that out. And, yes, YouTube would an a logical source as well. I wasn't aware of macprovideo.com. I'll check them out too.

Best regards,

Tony Ventura

+1 on recordingrevolution.com - Graham does a great job. Personally I also like the PureMixtutorials:

Ben does a great job on Beat detective, elastic audio etc...

Groove 3 is another paid service with a good deal of video series available covering more than just Pro Tools. The have a few non Pro Tools centric mixing videos that are good, and just happen to be on Pro Tools. :) It's normally somewhat costly, but they have a good deal on the all access pass sometimes.

Some good videos scattered throughout the Pro Tools Expert site as well. Tips and such. You;ve gotta ante up there as well, but it might be worth it. It's not too expensive.

You know Youtube, of course. There are some good ones and some bad ones, and I mean really bad. Good onesare in there, though. I use it to find specific topics sometimes.

I also recommend buying a ProTools 101 course book from eBay if you're total newbie. It is a lot easier to learn from that book than anything else. Once you've gathered those basic skills, you can probably take a look at the Reference Manual as well

Right! +1 on the Reference Manual...I have found answers to so many questions by just looking it up in the Manual.

Pro Tools 10 Ignite is a good 3rd party manual. Youtube has tons of helpful videos. If you are near a large music store(like Sam Ash or Guitar Center) those places often have free classes on Saturdays.
