HD6 vs HDX2 "ITB" Listening Challenge

We would like to thank everybody to participated in the recent Avid Pro Tools|HDX listening challenge. We will investigate future listing challenge events and make sure to notify you.

For the record the final stats for the listening challenge are as follows:

426 people have listened to the mixes and responded so far:
61.50 % prefer the Pro Tools|HDX mix
17.14 % prefer the Pro Tools|Accel mix
21.36 % said it was too close to call

Of those who preferred the Pro Tools|HDX mix:
34.35 % said it sounded better overall
44.66 % said it had wider stereo imaging
37.02 % said it had more depth in the mix (instruments were easier to pick out)
41.60 % said it had smoother presence or high end
46.56 % said it had more extended bottom or low end
31.68 % said it had more life or dynamic range
35.11 % said it sounded clearer/cleaner
1.15 % said they couldn’t really hear much of a difference
