Ok. Just got done uninstalling my MidiSport and Uno drivers, and everything Digidesign-related from the system (Pro Tools, plug-ins, settings, temp files, everything), and installed PT 7.3 from scratch.
It still crashes randomly after a couple minutes.
Any more suggestions?

Hey, have you tried what the Digi Tech guy suggested yet? It makes total sense to me...

Yes, I did what he said. I cleaned out everything, then did a fresh install.

wireless cards can cause all kinds of problems in any system

OK. I took out the wireless card and updated the video card driver. No improvement.
Still crashes randomly.
I ordered a digidesign approved MIDI interface (emagic MT4), so when that gets here I'll see what happens.
Suggestions are still welcome.

Bought a new MIDI interface for the MCU (Emagic MT4)
Mixed for almost a whole day and have had no crashes whatsoever.
Thanks guys.

Hey

I hope you still follow this topic to help me :)

I got the same problem as you had

my (laptop) setup:
Pro Tools MP 8
Fast track
EMU xmidi 2x2
Mackie Control (not the universal)

As far as I know it only crashes when I switch the channels a few times on the mackie control. I tried switching usb ports etc. but nothing seems to help :s is there any way that I can do this without having to buy another midi interface?

When I use the mackie control on my pc (via the profire2626) it works without any problems.
