Re: Multiple MIDI interfaces with PTLE...
I'm running 8 MIDI devices distributed across a Roland S-MPU64 4x4 USB MIDI Interface and the Digi001. No glitches/dropouts.
On a Mac, both the S-MPU64 and the Digi001 appear in OMS. However, I'm unfamilliar with how Pro Tools distributes MIDI on a PC. The only problems I've encountered is irregular timing when the CPU is under heavy loading with 'hundreds' of plug-ins, although I've still more experiments to do with PTle 5.1. In fact, this may be a USB or OMS issue. Disable effects, or Low Latency Monitoring and problem is fixed. Phil

Multiple MIDI interfaces with PTLE...
Here's a thought...
How about using 2 MIDI interfaces.(DIGI 001 box MIDI I/O excluded) ...First for the 3 motormixes (serial) ...Second for keys and modules (usb) If I purchase the Digi 001, I will be using 3 motormixes, 3 MIDI input devices and 5 MIDI sound modules. The question is...would using separate MIDI interfaces solve any timing problems that might occur during a session? Also, would Protools LE recognize both interfaces simultaneously? jbr |
