Default Playback engine

This is the way my playback engine settings are. There is no option to change the buffer size. Is that normal or am I not seeing something? I have 11.3 using Windows 7/64.

That's right. Nothing happens when you click it. 256 is the only option.

Are you using your interface for anything other than PT (like Windows sounds)? If so could be the system grabbed it and won't let go which is normal for Windoze).

Indeed^^^ Its preferred to set Windows to NOT use the interface as its default playback device(Sound>Properties)

Also, some interfaces, IIRC, require you to change the Buffer in their settings first.

I remember having a problem wherein nothing but Pro Tools music was coming out of the speakers....no YouTube, mp3's or anything. So I think I found a setting that allows everything to be heard. I guess I need to find out how to make this right so I can adjust the buffer because I have this tune with maybe 50 tracks and 3-4 plugins on each so I get the AAE errors, etc.
