It's been a 3rd party so far also, you have been okay with it but not moving your data from one 3rd party company to another 3rd party?

I think they leave it that way so folks who were may be reading but have not contribute don't immediately loss sight of the thread and get a chance to see that it was moved.

My concern was that the issue was not appearing as a ‘hot topic’ (in Pro Tools 2019) and could potentially mislead visitors.

The decision to raise the prices, move to a sub model, is a desperate move, as it seems and will not fix anything. They are delusional if they truly believe that this will save them, it will just buy them some time...and then... the free fall until the crash.

It would be more honest if they made a public request to their user base, asking for financial injection with the form of a nice offer, like a win-win deal.
Also a generous update with the most asked features, customers couldn't reject and take people on their side. Increase the user base with new blood and keep them sailing.

Oh well....one can only dream.

Cheers!

They are too busy on the Avid Customer Association. This forum is populated by too many old skool types who wont "get with the program"

You only answered half my question, the part I thought I understood. I'll ask it again...

Will the price of Pro Tools | Ultimate Perpetual still be $399 next year (April 2020) ?

Or should I renew now to make sure it stays $399 until 2021?

Thanks.

But there is a change for Pro Tools Standard Perpetual renewal license.

Starting July 1 it goes DOUBLE from $99 a year to $199. Better act fast right Avid? Now that you have my balls in a vise guess I better get out my wallet fast. Time is running out to get the $99 renewal price. Here's a definition for ya...

ex·tor·tion -
the practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats.

Thank you for your order.

I seriously doubt you'll get an answer on what prices will be a year from now. If you think people are making noise about $199/year for non-Ultimate, wait and see what happens if Avid raises that $399/year for Ultimate.

It's been stinging paying four times what non-ultimate users do for support and infrequent updates as it is. After the price increase, at least it's ONLY twice as much for the same thing.

Seems to me the new price structure released by Avid does not include a price increase to the renewal of PT Ultimate it’s states “old price $399.00 new price $399.00” so you should be good to go. But in if in doubt and you have the cash go for it to be on the safe side. I’m on PT standard and I have pushed my support and update plan out to June 2022.
