Default Problem with low latency monitoring

Hello everyone,
Hope someone can solve this problem. Client has Pro Tools 2020.5 with Catalina 10.15.4, Ultimate Native with AVID 16 I/O. Two weeks ago, I assisted him with installing the latest driver for 2020.5, and then had him re-install the app (PT 2020.5) after the driver install. His system did not recognize the HD Native Thunderbolt Playback Engine, so at the time, I built a 16 I/O Audio Playback Engine in the Audio/MIDI set-up, using the Native HD Thunderbolt on the check box inside this configuration. He was again able to play his sessions, so I thought everything was good to go. Today he reached out again when he was unable to hear his record tracks. The signal was getting into Pro Tools, but the output of the track was not getting to his Master Fader. I then noticed he was trying to use Low Latency Monitoring. When he unchecked this he was able to hear his input, but it was latent. I visited the I/O settings and was not able to see the Low Latency checkbox in any of the tabs. Dropping the H/W buffer size did not help. I am theorizing that the HD Native Thunderbolt Playback Engine is the issue. First of all, wondering how to get that back to normal. Otherwise, what else could be in play here? Please let me know when you can, and please let me know if you would need any additional information. Thanks.

I have absolutely no idea why marketing wanted to introduce that LLM in the first place. Just turn it off and set playback buffer low enough.

I would focus on sorting out what is going on and just stuff set up properly.

If Pro Tools Ultimate is not seeing a HH Native driver (?) and other audio software is then the issue is likely a lack of Digilink license.... otherwise reinstall the HD driver, making sure the security approvals for the driver are made. Reinstalling Pro Tool should probably not have been needed.

I'm another that looks at LLM as a waste of time and effort. Set the buffer to 64 and track away.

I have no idea whether this is contributing to the problem described but Catalina 10.15.4 specifically has not been qualified. See this.

True, better update to 10.15.5 -- but with that said I was lucky to have success with 10.15.4 also

Thanks- I did not realize this version was not approved yet. But going to 10.15.5 would work?

I believe 10.15.5 will be supported soon, but 10.15.4 will not ever be.
