That's just to stupid IMO.

Come on Avid, get rid of this discussion all together.
Notwithstanding all the good ideas and valid opinions on how this issue SHOULD be addressed, the turning point on this thread was when Max phrased the question as 'either or'.

Instead of the top Ideascale suggestion being implemented and Avid demonstrating their continuing support for ER, many are now concerned about losing important existing functionality. I can only guess that this would help Avid support ER in future PT releases (possibly related to plugin format moving to AAX)? But what if they launch other useful iPad apps like a PT controller (or if you use a third-party one) ... will we need two iPads?

Max - probably best if you reaffirm your last question!

Didn't they just spend a good chunk of the team's time porting the 11 plug-in over?

Look when I saw that Max asked a question of whether we wanted the Eleven Rack control in Pro-Tools or on another platform (which I don't and probably never own) it looked to me that Avid were looking to decouple the 11R controls from the future version of Pro-Tools.

Well, I must've misread something, not paid attention and I'm tired, but, that's what I thought at the time. Just tell me that the 11R is going to get another ERXP and I'll go back and hide under my rock.

Don't read too much into it. I posed the question this way just to glean some information.

I tried really hard to find the subliminal message in that post but I couldn't find it - it was much too subtle for me .

Avid are in a great position with the 11R. It's a great product that stands up to the big boys very well and has got a cult following that all love the unit. I know this as I am one of them.
Now for the reason Avid should pull there fingers out and get some updates, we will all happily pay for them. It's simple they make money we get more toys to play with.

It's win win.

So come on Avid throw a dog a bone!

Maybe I did TOOOOOO good a job of being sublime

Perhaps I need to repost and drop a few hints as to what I would REALLY like to see in the 11R
