A friend of mine has a Fairlight mfx3 plus system which has a very useful feature which is: You can import an EDL which creates markers for all the edit points. So, for editing you just have to TAB to the next edit (marker) point and cut - VERY COOL. This makes cutting BG's for film a snap as all your video edits have been imported as markers. As far as I know, there is no way to do this in PT but I think there should be.

2 workarounds

• Create a dummy midi track. Markers will export and import when importing midi files.

• Pete Gates has a great piece of software that can automatically create and name markers from an EDL
