Have you tried updating to SP1.

Have you tried launching with Run As Admin.

Was Pro Tools 9.x working before, if so, what has changed?

Did you install the driver Before you installed PT9.0

Quote:
The Pro Tools Software Installation Guide Version 9.0 document recommends installing the latest device drivers before installing Pro Tools 9

However, if you are installing or updating to Pro Tools 9.0.1 or higher, Avid recommends installing the latest device drivers after installing Pro Tools 9.0.1 or higher.

Did you try updating the iLok drivers?

www.ilok.com

Updating Quicktime has worked for me in the past, so maybe give that a shot.

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/

Also clearing out the reg has helped, I use Ccleaner

www.ccleaner.com

You can also use Ccleaner to turn startup items On and Off instead of using Msconfig. If you have installed other software lately it may be a driver conflict that gets started at boot up, so try disabling some stuff in the start up menu.
Some Adobe products can cause AppHang errors.

Try updating your video card drivers.

Have you tried a complete uninstall of Pro Tools, then re-install?

EDIT:

I see you got it worked out, so disregard.
