Default OS9 to OSX mix system migration

hi all,

i am doing another OS9 to OSX mixplus migration ... but it has been awhile ....

moving to newer G4 dual 1 gig

just a couple Q's ..... sorry i do not have all pertinent info for you yet ....

expansion chassis - willl this have to be firmware updated - Digi 13 slot

plugins - i assume that all plugs will need to be updated (waves, etc....)

all plugins will need to be ported over to ilok (digitranslator ... etc ....)

mix 6.4.1 is the end of the line yes ....

atto cards .... need to be firmware updated ?


am i missing anything ... please do not be afraid to state the obvious

Yes for all of the above (the only plug-in exceptions are WAVES if you choose to authorize disk, and VocALign).

Whoa! Wait a second.... I own Waves Gold plugins that work in PT 5.3.1/OS 9.2.2, with the disk authorization method of copyright protection. Are you saying I DON'T need to upgrade them if I go to PT6/OSX????

That's not I heard....

If you are a registered owner of WAVES v4, then no, you do not need to pay for an upgrade to use your plug-ins with OS X.

If you are a registered owner of WAVES v3, then yes, you do need to pay for an upgrade to use your plug-ins with OS X.

Either way, with OS X and WAVES v4, you can choose to authorize the disk, instead of using the iLok. It's your call (I'm authorizing disks).
