Re: Yamaha O1V as a midi controller
Do a search on the PTle Host for Mac forum on 01V controller.
Short answer is you can go to Setups> Peripherals> Controllers and tell PT it's a Peavey PC1600 (or something... the Peavey one). Assign it as the in and out. You may need to configure in OMS and give "Controller" a check mark after double-clicking on the 01V icon. The amount of control is pretty limited. Basically you'll get 8 faders, which is kind of cool. |

Re: Yamaha O1V as a midi controller
This is good news to me. I was told the 01v could not be controlled or be a controller. I will try this.

Re: Yamaha O1V as a midi controller
The 01V can be completely automated via MIDI and a sequencer (Pro Tools).
I've never had success using it (Promix - pre 01V) as a controller while trying to automate it at the same, so it's one way or the other: It can either be the controller or be controlled. |

Re: Yamaha O1V as a midi controller
hello
Another way to control protools (i have PT.LE 5.1.1 with digi001 on my quicksilver G4-867) is to build a remote control map to emulate completely a jlcooper cs10 . The specs are on the "MIDI Controller.pdf" document at digi site. I did it and it works fine : it's not hard to emulate JLC CS-10 because 01V has lots of faders/buttons and you can assign everything you want to them(remote control page of 01V). You can even control plugins,EQs,PAN,sends, etc etc but it's ONE-WAY-ONLY : you can ONLY send information to protools mixer and not vice-versa(01V's faders won't move when you move protools mixer's fader on display of your 'puter with your mouse). You must set CS-10 emulation mode on protools mixer once you configured your 01V. Now i took a motormix and it works far better anyway because it seems "dedicated" to protools.
