Default Mp3 to m4a on Mac?

So I'm readying my tracks for mastering.....burning discs in iTunes to play in the car and various other systems and flipping the .wavs to Mp3s in Audacity. I'd like to hear them on my iPod as well but Audacity doesn't flip to the proprietary .m4a format. What can I use to do that?

iPods will play Mp3s. If you want M4a's, you can convert wav to M4a with iTunes.

iPods support Wavs and AIFF as long as they're 16-Bit, no flipping required.
