If I do a bunch of other edit moves first (to reset the list) I can add a series of MIDI notes with no error.

Well, it's rare that I would add new MIDI notes after committing anyway as I usually commit after the MIDI track is complete.
So it would only happen if I started to compose a new MIDI track as I neared 64 actions in the undo list.

Given that it's rare that I would recreate this in my normal workflow I'm just going to forget it ever happened.
Just have to decide if I'm going to settle on 2018.1 and let my plan lapse like I was going to.

I also got an AV when renaming an audio clip with EA enabled.
So I just told myself: Well don't do that then!
when it comes into play for me .. is when i commit something and then wish to go back and make one Simple change !!! so i find myself needing to make a copy of the track (de-active it) then do my commit so if i need to i have somewhere to go back to .. it has happened several times now ..

OK Thanks john1192.

Did a quick test and get the AV on my W10 system also. Can resume working after I close the AV box.
