Regardless if the imic works or not, you can't record 48 into PTF, cause the sound manager only works at 44

who wants to go 48 anyway? - amateur crap !

Amateur crap.......48k? huh....hmmm wuteva

Anywayz, DV records audio @ 48K , this data is captured into Final Cut Pro via firewire. Editing audio in FCP aint a happnin affair let me tell u. Additional dialog, sound tracks etc that are required for a project in FCP need also to be 48K when comes to the edit to tape stage (DV).

I emailed Griffin Tech, the iMic does indeed record @ 48K. I was hoping this maybe the solution to edit/record audio in ProTools on PowerBooks. Appears tho that PT 5 Free has 48k sessions disabled.

Now im wondering if ProTools 4.3.2 will work with the iMic an thus enable and create 48k sessions.

I was prepared to shell out on a Digigram Pocket VX if ProTools 5 Free could use it and create 48k sessions....not to be as per usual :{{

I was referring mainly to music/audio use. (I'm a music guy) Most early dat machines and such that came out only operated at 48, disabling 44.1, which is the cd standard. Therefore my hatred for 48 stuff (dats,adats etc.)

If you work with video then I stand corrected.

However, you'll still run into the same problems with 4.3.2

You still need to use the apple sound manager under 4.3.2, thus limiting you to only recording at 44.1
