Default Protools with Hui,d8b, Yamaha,control24,or procontrol

Ok, what do you use to mix on Hd? I have a Hui that I just got back from Mackie, I loved it until the faders stopped working! I got it back and now the faders are sticky, what gives?!!!
Anyway what do you use to mix with and why?
As far as the digital mixers most people skip, the pres right? Anybody using the new Yamaha dm2000 with HD? I am wondering at this point how reliable any of these surfaces will be long term.
Are the digi surfaces more realible than the Mackie or Yamaha offerings? Thanks
Daniel

I'm working with an HD - YamahaDM2000 system and I love it, I connect the DM via 3 AES/EBU(8channels) cables to my pair of 192D. I can use the HD as a multitracker-only and Mix on the DM, or I can use the remote layer of the DM and mix in the PT inserting the desired channels of the DM in the PT, (effects, channels with EQ, compressors...) and I love it! I also have 16 channels of TDIF I/O for outboard compressors, fx... I use the Studio Manager (YAMAHA) software in the background to easily store sessions, configure patches etc...

It really works!!!!

Bye from catalonia!

The dm 2000 is very cool.
With the aes cards, i think it's about 30k
For my home studio I bought the Control 24,
vintage pres. and compressors.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I used a HUI for almost three years and generally loved it, but let's face it: at its best, all it really is, is a poor man's ProControl. I used the HUI in combo with a Yamaha 03D, but it was a real pain in the ass, moving back and forth, depending on what I was trying to do at any given moment.

I was finally able to save up enough dough to get a used ProControl and sell the HUI, and man, what a difference! The faders have a much better feel, and the jog/shuttle control is head-and-shoulders better than the Mackie ever was.

Unfortunately, this is clearly one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. I personally don't need the mike inputs of the Control24, but that's another alternative you might look into.
