Question elastic audio anomolies

I was doing some editing on a song which had all of the tracks in a mono, rhythmic, or polyphonic state. The song starts out at 114 bpm, goes to a section of 172bmp, and then back to 114bpm. I decided to edit the the 172bmp section by eliminating half of it. When I played back the song the 114bpm parts at the end were stretched. Not the rhythmic parts bu the mono and polyphonic parts.

Lesson learned, apparently, is to render all tracks before making a major cut in the song. ?

Another time, I was recording vocals tracks to a non-elastic audio track and decided to move a region out of the way by moving it to another vocal track with mono elastic audio. Both parts were at 114bpm. When I moved the region back to the non elastic audio section it had slowed down.

Maybe I missed something in the manual but does this seems a little weird or what I should expect?

Page 525 of the manual probably hits upon this.

You may want to check out the other EA thread that goes into discussion of editing/fades with EA (and, yes, consolidation before EA usage is the way to go).
