Default clicks & pops while stopped-dropouts while playing

OSX panther
G4 dual 876
2gig RAM
MIX 6.4.1cs
CORE - 24ADAT
FARM - 888/24
DSP - 882/20

Im experiencing clix and pops even while not playing and drop outs while rec and play back. Ive reset hardware, restarted system, cleared all the chip usage, rapidly flicked lights on and off, thrown a bucket of water at the dog....nothing seems to stop it.. oh! except for going home and sleeping, then coming back to the studio the next day. please any suggestions??

yes sounds like clocking, how are the 882 and 888 clocked? loop synced together?
had a similar problem with a 96i/o and 882, they werent locking together, so just turned of the 882 and problem went away!

Thanx guys, Im 99% sure it was a clocking issue, Im just not sure how or why it decided to start now and not earlier... I just did a full disconnect and reconnect of all hardware and now we seem to be back on track again. Heres an obvious tip for all that are as daft as I. Dont leave an important session open while screwing with sync issues... I had a 48k session turn itself into a 44.1k session without me knowing and it saved that way....

Cheers!
